Ada Turns One!

Rory has been seeming so grown up lately. She loves taking pictures and often asks to take my camera or the iPad to go on her own adventure. She also got a makeup kit from Grammy when we were in Moses Lake and we are getting a lot of use out of it. She is actually getting really good! Now I just have to decide when it's appropriate to let three year olds leave the house while wearing makeup. She likes to do my make up as well and she gets really into character while she's doing it. She will only answer to "make up girl" and if you try to correct her techniques she will say, "No, no, no darling. Make up girl has a special way of doing this you see."

Rory was finally able to start preschool this month and she was soooo excited. She is going to the Inspire entertainment preschool with Mrs. Buckley. They meet for two hours twice a week and once a week she stays an extra hour for a dance class afterward. She absolutely loves it! After I picked her up on her first day I said, "Did you make any new friends today?" She replied, "Ugh! I didn't like walk up to them and say, 'What's your name?' ok? So I don't know their name, she wouldn't talk. But then she did talk and we played kitchen together and I love her. And so yeah, that's all." I'm so happy for her, and so far there have been no bad reports from the teacher!

On August 15 Ada turned one! She is the funniest little baby and I still feel like we're all still figuring her out. She just started to crawl at eleven months and it is so cute to see her follow along from room to room. When Rory is at preschool Ada will often crawl into her room to play with all her toys while she is gone. She doesn't travel very well, and she is not very easy going about any change of schedule or setting, but she loves being held and gives the best cuddles. She has two settings, happy and content or sad as all get out, and she just doesn't do a lot of in between emotions. We got her her own water bottle for her birthday and she loves it. I made her a little oatmeal chocolate chip cookie cake because I couldn't resist and she was a big fan.

While we were in Moses Lake Jules took some one year old pictures of Ada and I could not love them more. I knew when it came to a cake smash that this girl would not disappoint. I also love her concerned eyes in some of the pictures, because that is so Ada. And her grabbing off her bow in the end because I couldn't actually believe she left one on that long in the first place!

Happy birthday sweet baby girl! You may not be 100% sure about us most of the time, but we are all 100% obsessed with you! (Well, not Rory. And not Dad and I when you're crying and screaming real loud. But besides that, yes, 100% obsessed.)
